First of all, Augustine helped us a LOT when we arrived in the very early morning in Dar es Salaam. He came to meet us at the airport and helped us get Tanzanian SIM Cards. He arranged a taxi which we took together to the bus station and he got us tickets to Lushoto, which we probably wouldn’t have managed alone on time since it was quite at the last moment. Even after we left to Lushoto Augustine kept checking if we were ok and helped us (on the phone) when our bus got stuck. We definitly felt we were in good hands!

Later in the journy we arrived in Zanzibar and booked a trip to Stone Town and a spice farm. The tour was really nice, we learned about the history of the town and about life there today. We felt it was a little too short for us, we could have spent more time there, see and experience even more and hear more about it (we loved stone town!). Some free time for shopping could have been good as well.

In the early afternoon we went to a spice farm tour (guided by a guy from the farm) which was great. Afterwards we came back to stone town to see the evening/night Market. We were tired so we skipped the Full Moon party, maybe next time!

We had fun getting to know Augustine as a guide and as a friend. He is reliable, punctual and has a very good English, and equally important – he is passionate about what he does. Thanks Augustine, we hope to stay in touch!

Art For Action collaborated in Dar er Salaam in 2016 where we ran skateboard and art workshops side by side. Augustine was invaluable throughout the running of the project, from the point of networking in the UK and whilst we were in Dar Es Salaam. Augustine was informative, helpful, enthusiastic and wonderful to work with.
